Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Polyvine Original Scumble used for?
It’s a professional glazing medium used for creating decorative wall finishes such as wood grain, marbling, antiquing, and soft-textured layers.

2. Can I use it outdoors?
Yes. It’s suitable for exterior use on properly prepped surfaces. For long-term durability, you can seal with a compatible exterior varnish.

3. How do I achieve a wood grain effect?
Apply Scumble over a satin base coat, then drag the Polyvine Graining Rocker through the glaze while it’s wet to create the wood pattern.

4. What types of paint work best underneath Scumble?
It’s best applied over satin or vinyl silk emulsion (latex) paints. These provide the right surface for manipulation without absorbing the glaze too quickly.

5. How do I clean my tools after use?
Wash brushes, rollers, or tools with warm, soapy water immediately after application.
